Rue Du Sorbier, Champagne
We are a big advocate of grower Champagne - where the estate produces wines using grapes from their own vineyards - as these smaller producers emphasise the influence of the terroir of their villages, rather than sourcing grapes from across the region to create a 'house style'. The Rue du Sorbier Brut NV from the A. Levasseur estate is made using grapes all grown in the villages of Cuchery, Fleury-la-Rivière, and Châtillon-sur-Marne. Fresh apple flavours and a nutty quality are backed up with a red fruit character from the Pinot Meunier.
