Verse two brings the blackcurrant and darker fruits with a hint of 'barrel room' aroma, which smells like money to a winemaker. The palate ramps up the complexity, starting with charred oak underpinning the complex dark fruits, dried apricot and sticky date pudding. Then clove, white pepper and mixed roasted veg umami. You can sense the time invested by the length and complexity that presents. The finish remains lively and 'mentos fresh'
